Do you believe in southeast Oklahoma?  My name is Hank Austin and I do.  That is why I am running for State House District 1. The citizens of McCurtain County possess a hard work ethic and strong family values.  McCurtain County is one of the most diverse counties in Oklahoma.  From the mountains and forests of the north to the rich fertile farmland along the banks of the Red River, our resources provide opportunities for growth, while maintaining traditional values.

 With a progressive agenda, we can move forward in the areas of economic development, education, health care, and public safety.  We are fortunate to live here, yet there is so much more we can do to make McCurtain County and southeast Oklahoma standout in our state and region as a place where commerce is welcome and our people are cared for.

The people of McCurtain County are hungry for jobs, more education, access to better health care, improved highways, and less crime.  They are hungry for leadership, for someone to stand up and move us forward, not backward.  The communities of Oklahoma that will prosper in the future are the ones that will choose the right people to fight for their values.   I believe that I am the person who can satisfy those needs.

In order to move forward, we need a person with ability, integrity, and strong family values.  I believe that people are ready for a new direction.  I will be a listener to the voice of the people of McCurtain County.  I will be open minded to your ideas and represent everyone, not just a select few, as we move forward, together, to a brighter future.  I believe in southeast Oklahoma!

I ask for your vote on Tuesday, July 29, 2008.  Together we will move forward into the future of a more prosperous southeast Oklahoma.
